1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we collect your email address and basic profile information.

Bookmark Data: We store your bookmarks, including URLs, titles, descriptions, tags, and AI-generated summaries when you use cloud sync.

Usage Information: We track bookmark visit counts and last visited timestamps to provide you with activity insights.

Device Information: We store a device identifier to manage multi-device sync.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the TagTag bookmark management service
  • Sync your bookmarks across devices
  • Generate AI-powered summaries and tags for your bookmarks
  • Detect and flag broken links
  • Provide usage analytics and insights
  • Improve our service and develop new features

3. Data Storage & Security

Cloud Storage: Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with industry-standard encryption.

Local Storage: Bookmarks are also stored locally in your browser using Chrome's native bookmark API.

API Processing: When we generate AI summaries, your bookmark content is temporarily processed by OpenAI's GPT-4 API, which is subject to OpenAI's privacy policy and data retention practices.

Security: We use HTTPS for all data transmission and follow security best practices to protect your information.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth: For authentication (subject to Google's Privacy Policy)
  • Supabase: For cloud data storage (subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy)
  • OpenAI: For AI-powered summaries and tagging (subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy)
  • Cloudflare Workers: For API processing (subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy)

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your bookmark data is private and only accessible to you.

We may share information only in the following circumstances:

  • With your explicit consent
  • To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests
  • To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property

6. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all your stored bookmark data
  • Export: Download all your data in JSON format (Settings → Export All Bookmarks)
  • Delete: Remove specific bookmarks or clear all data (Settings → Clear All Data)
  • Account Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data (Settings → Delete Account)
  • Opt-out: Disable cloud sync and use the extension offline

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account, we permanently delete all associated data within 30 days.

Local browser data is retained until you manually delete it or uninstall the extension.

8. Children's Privacy

TagTag is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of TagTag after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
